TRANCE

There are women who can fall into a trance and who are, during that period,

able to read someone’s past and to predict future.

People call them “Rusalje”, and still don’t know much about them and their abilities,

but there are many articles about this phenomena.

 

That kind of state of mind was a subject of many scientific and medical researches since the First World War.

 

No one knows precisely where the origin of these phenomena is, what causes it …

and why it appears in the precise period of time.

For the first time M. Majszner mentioned these phenomena in the paper titled

“Rusalje from Dubocke – the last signs of the Cult of the Great God’s Mother”.

 

Using as key words orgy, shamanism, ecstasy, awaking, media,

Majszner provoked readers and introduced them the mystic world in the Balkan area.

 

Later, it was written that rituals made by Rusalje are done at the specific geographical parts in the period of Pentecost,

and that it is called “Queens”.

 

In some places these rituals are organized during Christmas time,

in some other on the other religious days connected with Pentecost. Then it is cold “druzical” or “ruzicalo”.

 

Men think that their women, during being into trance, are transcendental beings.

It is believed that during the trance, dryad with long hairs are coming into their bodies, carrying souls of the untimely dead young girls.

 

Housewives and needlewomen become demons with whom it is possible to communicate only seven days per year.

People are aware that even between “Rusalje” it is present some kind of hierarchy organized by higher power that made power to them, as well.

 

They are a sort of medium called from that unconscious condition to transfer messages to their bellowed,

relatives and to wider community, and after the trance is ended they are not aware of anything that happened during it, not even what they were talking about.

 

After the trance, women are very exhausted.

 

During that condition some of them talk with the earlier dead relatives of the visitors etc.

 

Rusalja are able to contact dead person and to transmit his or her message, some of which could be very scary.

 

Such ability is not always believed as true.

 

Rusalje are able to stay in the condition of trance for several hours, and then they are able to give answers on causes of some specific illness, causes of problems, or to warn people on danger.

 

Rusalje also announce the names of girls with whom they are in contact… Janja, Marija i Sanzijana.

 

This three names are also mentioned in the book titled “Rituals of trance”, written by Dragoslav Antonijević who writes about this condition as a condition of every healthy person.

 

In his book, Antonijević describes: “On the top of the lawn someone is screaming much stronger than drums and songs.

The first of Rusalja fell into trance.

 

Old women are praying. Rusalja is trying to hug someone who is invisible for the others.

When she feels that her hands are empty, she starts screaming and crying….
